Why We Built This
Finding a funeral home in Atlanta shouldn't be hard. Yet for most families, it happens under the worst possible circumstances — grief, time pressure, and no trusted starting point. Families are forced to search through generic national listings, outdated websites, or word-of-mouth at exactly the moment they can least afford to get it wrong.
Atlanta Funeral Guide was created to change that. We set out to build a comprehensive, honest, and useful funeral home directory for the Atlanta metro area — one that helps families make informed decisions with confidence, not confusion.
What We Do
We maintain a comprehensive directory of over 151 funeral homes across Atlanta and the surrounding communities, including Marietta, Decatur, Douglasville, Stone Mountain, and dozens more neighborhoods. Every listing includes verified contact information, location, Google ratings, and a direct link to each funeral home's profile.
Beyond the directory, we offer two free planning tools:
- Funeral Home Finder — a guided 4-step wizard that matches families with the right funeral home based on location, service type, religious preferences, and priorities.
- Funeral Planning Checklist — a 29-item, phase-by-phase checklist covering the immediate days after a loss through the weeks that follow, with browser-saved progress.

Our Editorial Principles
Atlanta Funeral Guide is an independent directory. We are not affiliated with any funeral home, funeral chain, or funeral services company. Our standard listings are not paid placements — they are drawn from public data and updated as corrections come in.
The only paid placement on this site is our clearly labeled Featured Sponsor section. We believe transparency builds trust, and we will never obscure a commercial relationship.
When we publish articles and guides, we rely on publicly available information, Georgia state law, and federal consumer protection rules (including the FTC Funeral Rule). We do not accept payment to influence editorial content.
Who We Serve
We serve two groups of people:
